Thanks so much for stopping by. I am having a lovely time working in my cozy little studio - the old-fashioned way, cutting and pasting with scissors and glue, rummaging through the button jar, mixing paints, stitching and making new art. Treasures of all kinds surround me for inspiration. Rick rack and ribbons, black and white snapshots, old letters, vintage valentines and cards, bowls of thread spools and stacks of home-felted wools. But here on the website, you will get a peek at my mixy-matchy style and some of the sample designs available for licensing and commission. From favorite handmades to licensed designs, the gallery is open for viewing. It might give you an inkling of something I could create especially for you.
Come visit my blog, house wren studio for frequent updates on work and life inside my studio. I post regularly and include crafty ideas for the season from time to time as well as news about my licensing projects, articles and workshop classes. The blog is an open window of inspiration and connects with many other artists and crafters too.
BIG NEWS:
I recently designed and licensed my first fabric collection with Anna Griffin's new company, Blend Fabrics in Atlanta. Walnut Hill Farm ships to retailers this month. The image above is an apron I made with "Button Box," one of the prints. Contact joe@blendfabrics.com for more information.
